Fire Damper Compliance and Asset Management

Fire Dampers (FDs) are a hidden Life Safety System designed to prevent the spread of Fire between compartments via ductwork and air transfer devices. FD are a spring-loaded device that when heated above 72 degrees activate a shutter door that prevents the spread of fire.

BS9999:2017 and the more recent BESA TB VH001 clearly state that FDs must be inspected, tested, and logged annually. With the enactment of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 England and Wales, it is now the employer’s responsibility to maintain their fire safety systems.

EA Compliance can manage this process our clients. By offering the following services we ensure our client gets immediate value for money:

Annual Testing. EA Compliance will log, test, and reset your FDs annually. We will provide test reports that conform to VH001 including photographic evidence and a full asset log.

Asset Management. EA Compliance will carry out you next complete FD test schedule and provide all the above information to enable the client to go out to full competitive tender safe in the knowledge the quotes are like-for-like.

The FD Access Programme

In addition to the above options, EA Compliance will provide a schedule of remedial works required to enable the safe maintenance of your FDs. Using our clients’ contractors or our tried and tested contractor we can arrange for the remedial works require to be carried out prior to the next service.
